It’s getting hot this summer–places in Europe have set records, many times. Fun fact: did you know that the Eiffel tower can grow about 6 inches in the summer? It’s metal–and metal expands (gets bigger) when it’s hot, so it gains up to 6 inches. A couple of other cool facts about the Eiffel tower–it was made to be temporary, but when it came time for it to come down, WW1 was starting and because it was the tallest structure in the world at the time, they could use it for transmitting signals. It actually helped win the war–they used it to jam German signals and listen in to their communications. One more fun fact–when Germany controlled Paris in WW2, Paris officials cut the cables for the elevators, so Hitler’s men had to climb all 1,710 steps to hang their symbol from it.

Something like the Eiffel tower–it was not supposed to even still be standing, but it has a lot of history and it’s been used in so many important ways. You’re like that–you may not think you’re important or that you’ll be used by God, but he has a plan to use you in many ways. You just don’t know it yet. Pray for him to prepare you.

God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Prepare me to be used by you. Make me what you need so I can be a light in the world for you. Make me less selfish, so I can focus on others before myself. Amen.
