If you’ve been on Diddly Snails for a while, you know we love our Marvel movies, so it’s been a sad weekend after hearing that Chadwick Boseman, the man who played Black Panther died on Friday.
Celebrities are not more important than anyone else, so we don’t want to honor him in that sense. But one thing to learn from this is that it’s important to wake up and ask yourself “How are we going to make the world better today?” I think that Mr. Boseman did that. He made movies that helped bring hope to the Black community, and he did it with humility. After he found out he had cancer, it’s almost like he decided to go find projects that would change the world, like Black Panther. He often talked about having a purpose to life.
We have a purpose, to honor God. A big part of it is loving others, and putting that love to the world. You may not be famous like Mr. Boseman, but how can you make the world better today? How can you bring hope?
Start with a kind, encouraging word to everyone you meet today.
Start with praying for everyone you meet today.
Start by really, truly listening to everyone you meet today.
I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace as you trust in him. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13 (ERV)
Dear Father in Heaven, you are worthy of my praise. Show me how to be kind, pray better, and listen well to my brothers and sisters today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
