Devotions for Kids

AM: May 26, 2019

Sunday is God’s day, the beginning of the week. It’s a day of rest, but that doesn’t mean we don’t do anything on Sundays.

Today is a good day to think ahead for this week: do you have schoolwork that needs your attention this week? Maybe you have a game or practice? Does your mom need help around the house? Do you leave any time to look at God’s creation and just sit in wonder for what He’s done?

Depend on the Lord in whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

Proverbs 16:3 (NCV)

When you think about the week, don’t just think about what is on your to-do list, but how should you mentally prepare for things? How can you plan to have a good attitude? How can you plan to be a good learner? To be curious in school or practice?

This week, try and be excited about learning–that doesn’t just mean school. Look around you and be amazed, listen to your parents and learn something new, absorb all you can from your coach. And to do that, plan to ask God for help and guidance.

Dear Lord, You know what is coming for me this week. Make me ready for it. Help me to have a good attitude so I can do my best and so I can show your love in any situation. Amen.
