So, we like all kinds of things here at Diddly Snails–history, facts, animals, movies, art–we’ve had fun facts about artists like Leonardo da Vinci. So this news story is a little bit tough… you remember the news story about the golden toilet? Well, that same artist, Maurizio Cattelan, made an artwork that was very sarcastic about how much people pay for art–his artwork was a banana duct-taped to a wall… no, I’m not kidding. And even crazier… someone bought it for $120,000. So he made another one and it sold too. The third one was hanging up for sale when another artist came along and ate the banana–he called it his artwork named “Hungry Artist”… Art can be a lot of different things, but I’m having a hard time understanding the $120,000 banana/duct tape thing. That’s a big price to pay, but sometimes art is about the idea, so people pay for the idea. Still…

God paid a big price for you. Way more than $120,000. You are priceless, but God paid for your sin with his only Son. It’s easy to kind of forget about why Jesus was born in Bethlehem, you grow up with Jesus Loves Me, and memorizing John 3:16. But really stop and think–Jesus became a baby for you, learned what it’s like to be truly human, and then died a very painful death. All for you. You are precious and priceless and are treasured by God. And He made a plan to save you. That’s a pretty great reason to celebrate, every day, not just in 9 days.

God loves you very much.

Daniel 10:19

Dear Father, forgive me when I forget just how much you love me. You made all things happen so that I can be saved, and I have a home in Heaven with you. Thank you Lord, Amen.
