You may be different from every other kid on this planet, but if you’re normal, there’s a word that you probably use a lot…and it’s one that your parents probably hate. Nope, not that one. Not a naughty word… the word BORED. As summer vacation is around the corner, parents all over dread the two words “I’m bored”. You never say that, right? God created us to be curious, like we saw the other day. And He gave us a heart for adventure. And you know what else he gave us? A job. He wants us to work hard, at whatever you do. Part of growing up is that you do need to work sometimes–there still should be a LOT of fun, but there will be times where it is about hard work. And that’s not a bad thing. It brings glory to God, it honors your parents and, honestly, it helps you grow into a capable, dependable, honest, caring person. You want to be that right?

Commit your work to the Lord, then it will succeed.

Proverbs 16:3

Dear Lord, Thank you for today. Thank you for giving me strength to do hard work, and the energy to have fun too. Help me to learn to work hard in a way that pleases you. Amen.
