Today is National Clergy Appreciation Day. Clergy is a word for the leaders of faith in different religions, so you if you’re a Christian, you have a minister/pastor at your church, or if you’re Catholic, you have a priest. So maybe make an effort to say hi to your pastor today, or say a prayer for him and his family.

Leaders in our faith are important. The Church is where we worship God with other believers, and we have a minister who has gone to school to learn how to teach the Bible to us. Ministers have very special training and are sent by God to churches. When we try and listen during the sermon, even if it’s hard to understand, God is pleased with us. We have been told to try and learn about God, to read his word, to pray and worship. We’re blessed to have leaders in our church to help us.

Yes, if two or three people are together believing in me, I am there with them.”

Matthew 18:20 (ERV)
