There’s a theory called “growth mindset” which basically says that if you believe you can get better at something, you can get better at it. It’s a pretty well-known and popular theory–you may have even heard some of the sayings from your parents–one of the most popular is about “the magic word ‘yet'” …sound familiar?

Positive thinking has a lot to do with mindset–if you think something will go well, if you have hope it can go far. You need to decide if you want the day to go well, you need to let yourself hope that you’ll win, you need to say out loud that things are awesome. Being hopeful takes a lot of courage and bravery–it’s a hard thing to put yourself out there and go on faith. Be brave today and say to yourself “Today is going to be great.”

Show me your faithful love this morning.
    I trust in you.
Show me what I should do.
I put my life in your hands!

Psalm 143:8 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Help me to be more positive. Give me the bravery to be hopeful and look for the good each day. Amen.
