Devotions for Kids

AM: May 23, 2019

You aren’t perfect right? I mean seriously…you mess up big time a lot…every day, right?

Have you ever heard of the word Grace? Maybe someone has used it for prayer, like “We need to say grace before we eat”. But what about God’s grace? What does that mean?

Grace means: that God stepped in for us and made us from from sin, made us holy. God gave us grace when we were not worthy. But that’s the beauty of grace–we don’t have to be perfect or deserve it. It’s a gift. You don’t try and pay someone back when they give you a gift, right? You accept it out of love.

So what can you do to show God your appreciation? Show grace to others. And I’m guessing that may be hard for you, because most kids do NOT want other people to have more than them. “But grace — forgetting what’s fair and giving others more than they deserve — is the best way to be like Jesus.”

Isn’t that a beautiful thought? Forgetting what’s fair and giving others more than they deserve. Show grace to someone today.

8-9 For it’s by God’s grace that you have been saved. You receive it through faith. It was not our plan or our effort. It is God’s gift, pure and simple. You didn’t earn it, not one of us did, so don’t go around bragging that you must have done something amazing.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (VOICE)

Dear Lord, Thank you for your GRACE towards me. Teach me how to accept it 100% and be grateful for it every day. Show me someone today that I can give grace to. Amen.
