Trust in God’s promises. In John 14, Jesus calls himself the truth. We can trust in God’s truth.
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 (NIV)
As you get older, you’ll start hearing more and more lies in the world. People will try to tell you that God doesn’t exist, or that you should just look out for yourself and not care about other people. They may tell you that you’re worthless or ugly. People can be mean and awful. Hopefully you won’t experience all of that in your life. But some time in your life, the world will lie to you and try to make you sad.
If that happens, don’t forget to trust in the Truth. God’s word is truth. His promises are truth. His love is truth. You can trust in all of that, even if the world tries to tell you something different. When you have a foundation of trusting in God’s truth and his promises, you don’t have to feel the pressure of figuring out life. He’s got it figured out for you. Just believe.
Dear Lord, Thank you. For everything you’ve done for me, and everything you will do for me. Help me to trust you in every situation, even when the world doesn’t make sense. Amen.
