AM: September 17, 2019 — Share, share, share
So since we were talking about gold yesterday, how about this fun fact for today: in the year 1917, the US paid $25 million dollars in gold for the Virgin Islands… man, what a deal! Considering that some people’s houses cost that much, I’d say we got a good bargain. Yeah, I know, it was 100 years ago, but still. Check out this house for sale—only costs $96.8 million dollars. It has its own ice rink…
So that house may be a bit overboard in terms of things–does someone really need a basketball court, ice rink, movie theater… okay, maybe I need the pizza room. But in honesty–if we have more than we need, we should be sharing it with other people who don’t. God tells us to share with others–how are you doing with that?
“If you have two shirts, share with someone who does not have one. If you have food, share that too…Don’t use force or lies to make people give you money. Be happy with the pay you get.”
Luke 3: 11 & 14 (ERV)
Dear Lord, Forgive me for being too attached to my things. Help me to learn to let go. Amen.
