AM: September 18, 2019 –Creative Friendship
This week is National Keep Kids Creative Week. It’s not just about you doing creative things though–it’s a week for your parents to work on being creative, both to include you, but to also set a good example. So today, you have a job–tell your mom or dad to do something creative this week. Let’s see if they do it or not–feel free to contact me and let me know if it happens.
It’s good to have a team to hold you accountable–that means to keep an eye on you and see if you’re doing what you say you’re going to do. Like if someone says they want to stop eating so much sugar, it’s good to have people around to help you. Having someone help you with your Christian walk is needed too. You may start to complain, use naughty words, maybe you lie to your parents every once in a while–so it’s good to have friends who will call you out and set you straight. We all need people around us to help us make wise decisions. Don’t surround yourself with friends who aren’t looking out for you. And make sure you’re the kind of friend who is dependable for this as well.
As one piece of iron sharpens another, so friends keep each other sharp.
Proverbs 27:17 (ERV)
Be friends with those who are wise, and you will become wise. Choose fools to be your friends, and you will have trouble.
Proverbs 13:20 (ERV)
Dear Lord, Thank you for my friends. Help me to be a better friend, and to be wise so I can help them stay on your path and know You. Amen.
