Today is National “Love Your Red Hair Day”. Fun fact: less than 2% of people worldwide are redheads, they have a higher chance of being left-handed, and they are more sensitive to pain. This National Day is to celebrate being redheaded since they sometimes get made fun of for their red hair.

We all have things we are more sensitive about, things that other people may make fun of us for–maybe you’re short, have an unusual-shaped nose, maybe you laugh in a different kind of way. But love yourself and the God who created you. No matter what, you’re a beautiful creation, inside and out. But the other side of this–be careful about teasing other people. You may be hitting on something that makes them feel awful about themselves. You don’t really want to be the kind of person who bullies and teases people, right? Sometimes it seems like a fun joke, but that person is maybe feeling just devastated on the inside.

Celebrate the fact that God made us all lovely and perfect. Be kind, but love yourself too.

what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c]
You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e]
and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.

Psalm 8:4-5 (NIV)

Dear Lord, Thank you for creating me this way–I love being me, and I love my life Lord. Forgive me for when I take it for granted. Forgive me if I said unkind things today Lord. Teach me how to love others and show them kindness. Amen.
