PM: August 5, 2019 — No sense

You may have heard in the news that there were two mass shootings over the weekend. About 30 people died, and many more were injured. We don’t know exactly why these awful things happen, but it’s safe to say that the individuals who are doing the shooting were not thinking right. They had some kind of anger, some kind of problem and they thought the best solution was to shoot a bunch of strangers. It makes no sense, I know.
First thing–talk to your parents when you hear news and have questions or concerns. There is evil in the world, but like we talked about a few weeks back–the good ALWAYS is more common. And God ALWAYS wins. Don’t let fear get to you.
Second thing–sometimes what you feel at the moment is what you end up regretting later on. God tells us to watch our anger. We all get angry and sometimes anger is a good thing–right now people are angry and are trying to get better gun laws to stop these things from happening. But we always need to stop and think before we act, because acting in anger is a dangerous stop.
Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
Proverbs 29:11 (NIV)
Dear Lord, Be with our world. Help those who are sad, and those who are hurting. Be with our leaders so they can make wise decisions. Forgive me when my anger gets the best of me. Teach me to control it. Amen.
