On June 4th, 1940, the ‘Miracle of Dunkirk’ was completed. The story of the miracle goes like this–during WW2, British and French soldiers ended up trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk, France–thousands of soldiers. A strange decision by the Germans to halt for a few days and make sure none of the soldiers broke through the lines gave the English time to go rescue many of the soldiers. England sent out all available small boats, normal fishing boats, sometimes only a few people fitting in each boat. They ended up rescuing over 338,000 soldiers over the three days, and many people from England risked their lives to sail their boat over the English Channel to get them. So it seemed a miracle, since all those men were trapped and could easily have been killed by Germans.
Miracles still happen around us. Sometimes people survive a disease that they shouldn’t, sometimes people survive things that they shouldn’t. Have faith, pray, and keep your hope up. Amazing things can happen.
You are the God who does amazing things. You showed the nations your great power.

Dear Father, Thank you for being a God of miracles. Help me to keep my eyes open to see them around me. Amen.
