So the National Day for today is actually National Book Lovers Day. So a lot of you may think, I don’t like books, but I really don’t think it’s true. Books are stories and everyone loves a good story, whether fiction or non-fiction. Don’t believe me? Do you like movies? Movies are stories, and a good amount of movies started out as a book. So a fun fact for books: the world record for fastest selling fiction book? Harry Potter book 7 of course. It sold 8.3 million copies in the first 24 hours.
It makes sense that HP 7 sold that many books so fast. The author, JK Rowling, wrote the books a year apart, so people were waiting to find out what happened next. They waited 2 years between number 6 & 7. That’s a long time to wait for a cliffhanger.
The Bible is often called The Greatest Story Ever Told. It’s God’s love story to us, the story of how he loved us so much that he sent his only son to die for us. And there’s no cliffhanger… God wins. We already know the ending.
For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.
John 3:16 (TPT)
Dear Jesus, thank you for dying to save me from my sin. Thank you for loving me that much. I believe in you and I believe you died for me. Amen.
