You’ve probably read the 10 Commandments before, but if you haven’t really looked at them, here’s a reminder of what the first one is:
2 “I am the Lord your God. I am the one who freed you from the land of Egypt, where you were slaves. 3 “You must not worship any other gods except me.
Exodus 20: 2-3 (ERV)
You may think, well, yeah, I’m not going to worship a different god. But it also means to not make other things more important than God. Think about what you spend a lot of your time on–video games, television, sports, even playing with friends. All good things. But if they become more important than God, then that’s a problem. God wants your time–he wants you to think of him often. He loves you, love him back and show it by praying to him and worshipping him.
