So we’re midway through August and it’s getting HOT these days. Fun fact: You ever heard of the famous baseball player Babe Ruth? Well, he played in the 1940’s and their uniforms were made of wool, which is a really hot fabric (we use it nowadays to keep warm). He would get cabbage leaves, stick them in a cooler, and then put one under his baseball cap to cool off his head. He’d change leaves every couple of innings.

Think about that in terms of God. God is our relief, maybe not exactly from scorching heat, but it’s the idea that God provides us what we need, when we need it.

They will not be hungry or thirsty.
The hot sun and wind will not hurt them.
Their Comforter will lead them.
He will lead them by springs of water.

Isaiah 49:10

Dear Lord, thank you for being a cooling stream of water for me. Help me to understand more of what that exactly means. Amen.
