Fun fact about gold: The world’s largest gold bar weighs 551 pounds… doesn’t really fit in your wallet, does it?

We are told to seek God’s word and His wisdom like treasure. Think about what you value–do you protect your toys, your piggy bank? What do you have tucked away in your closet, or under your bed, hidden away so nobody can steal it? These things are so important to you, but most of us don’t think about God in the same way. How can we treasure God’s word more? The first few steps? Pray and ask God for that attitude. And then spend some time in his Word each day. You’ll be on your way if you work on those two things.

Listen to wisdom, and do your best to understand. Ask for good judgment. Cry out for understanding. Look for wisdom like silver. Search for it like hidden treasure. If you do this, you will understand what it means to respect the Lord, and you will come to know God.

Proverbs 2:2-5 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Help me to value You–Your WORD and Your WISDOM. Teach me to not take it for granted but to protect and love it. Amen.
