AM: June 30, 2019 — Counting Stars

Happy Sunday! Today is National Meteor Watch Day. Did you know that every day there are actually millions of meteors in our atmosphere? Most are the size of a small pebble. Another cool fact is that shooting stars, as we call them, can be different colors–the theory is the different colors could mean different materials, such as blue/green is copper, and purple is potassium.

Today is Sunday, so thinking of the sky and meteors is a perfect way to think about God and the hugeness of him.

He counts the stars and calls them all by name.

Psalm 147: 4 (TLB)

He counts all the stars within His hands,
    carefully fixing their number
    and giving them names.
Our Lord is great. Nothing is impossible with His overwhelming power.
He is loving, compassionate, and wise beyond all measure.

Psalm 147:4-5 (VOICE)

Think of God knowing every single star in the universe–all the galaxies–by name. Wow. Be amazed by your God today.

Dear Lord, You are almighty, I give you my praise, and humbly bow before you today. Amen.
