In Toy Story, Buzz thinks he’s a real space ranger for most of the movie, and when he does realize the truth, Woody has to help him find a new purpose in being a toy for Andy. If you haven’t seen Toy Story 4 yet, I won’t ruin it for you, but you’ve probably seen one of the new characters, Forky. Yes, it’s a plastic fork with pipe cleaners. In the movie, Forky keeps trying to go to the trash bins–his real purpose was to be a disposable fork, not a toy, so he feels his purpose is unclear…but I don’t want to say too much beyond that just in case you still plan to see it.

We don’t have that problem. God made us with a plan and for a purpose. We may feel lost in life sometimes, or we may be unsure about making decisions, but God has a plan for our lives. We never need to be anxious about that.

I say this because I know the plans that I have for you.” This message is from the Lord. “I have good plans for you. I don’t plan to hurt you. I plan to give you hope and a good future.

Jeremiah 29:11 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Thank you for having a plan and purpose for my future. It may not be what I expect, but your ways are true and good. Forgive me for trying to control things. Help me to stay true to your path. Amen.
