April 21, 2020: Whole Lotta… Not Shaking?
With the lockdowns going on around the world, in the news this past week, scientists who study earthquakes and the movement of the earth’s surface found out something odd. With less people moving around, the earth is more still–it’s not shaking. They aren’t talking about earthquakes, but the daily shaking that normally happens–think about when a big truck drives by–all those trucks, cars, people not going around… it’s making the earth shake less.
When God works, he works in mysterious ways. He can cause the ground to shake, or he can make the whole world become still and quiet. In all things, God is working. Like the praise song says “Even when I don’t see it, You’re working–You never stop working”.
God is our protection and source of strength. He is always ready to help us in times of trouble. 2 So we are not afraid when the earth quakes and the mountains fall into the sea…
The Lord All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our place of safety.
