There was a story in the news this week about a boy who loved the University of Tennesee and wanted to wear one of their T-shirts for “College Colors” day at his elementary school. He didn’t have a shirt, so he drew it out and pinned it to a plain shirt, proudly wearing it to school. He got made fun of for his homemade shirt, but his teacher told his story on social media–and then the University found out, and made his design into a real shirt. 16,000 people so far ordered it, and the money is going to a group trying to stop bullying.
What a great thing the college did–taking a bad situation and helping that boy be proud of himself. What a way to encourage. How have you been doing with encouraging others? Find a way today to encourage and help motivate someone. Think of someone who’s been working very hard at a goal–maybe you can help keep them feeling good about all their work.
16 And don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with others, because sacrifices like these are very pleasing to God.
Hebrews 13:16 (ERV)
Dear Lord, Forgive me for being selfish yesterday and not thinking of others as much as I should. Give me the eyes to see how I can encourage someone today, help me to see where someone is working hard at something so I can encourage them. Amen.
