Today is Leon Day…yep, if you know a guy named Leon, wish him a Happy Leon Day.
No, just kidding–Leon Day is a real day, but it’s one of those made up not-really-a-national-day-kind-of-days. Leon is Noel backwards, so Leon Day means it’s halfway til Christmas.
As kinda dumb as a Leon Day seems, there is one good thing to think about. Jesus. Christmas is about God sending his Son to save us because he loves us that much–the best present ever. Yes, even better than Nerf guns, or an American Doll. Even better than a new video game system or a new phone.
So it is good to think about Christmas in the middle of summer. As long as we think about how thankful we are for the gift of Jesus. God gave us his son because he loves us.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son[a] so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 (NIV)
Dear Lord, Thank you for loving me so much that you sent your only Son, Jesus to die for me, so I can be saved. Help me to live today in a way that honors and pleases you. Amen.
