Fun fact for the day: Did you know–Animals avoid power lines because they see frightening ultraviolet flashes that are invisible to humans. I guess scientists have been trying to figure out why animals and birds avoid them all these years, and that’s why. I would avoid them too if it seemed like crazy lighting bolts coming off the power lines.

Animals listen to their instinct more than humans for sure. And as Christians, we don’t always listen to our instinct, or our conscience, enough either. Do you ever have a little nudge in your mind that you shouldn’t do something, or say something? But you do it anyways? It’s hard to do, we’re human, we make mistakes. God forgives, but he gave us the Holy Spirit to be with us and help us to make decisions and to know the right thing to do.

My purpose in telling you to do this is to promote love—the kind of love shown by those whose thoughts are pure, who do what they know is right, and whose faith in God is real.

1 Timothy 1:5 (ERV)

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

John 14:6 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Thank you for sending the Holy Spirit. Teach me to listen for help on how to live. Amen.
