Be Still and Know — August 7, 2020

Today, just be still and think on God. It’s easy right now to focus too much on the news–I’d bet your parents are checking news on their phones a lot during the day. But maybe it’s time we spend some of that energy thinking about God.
“Be still, and know that I am God”
Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
It’s hard to be still and really think about that fact–HE is GOD. How are we supposed to think on that when we’re focused on news and what’s wrong with the world, instead of the goodness of life and the goodness of God. Tell me–have you been complaining a lot? Focused on Coronavirus? Or maybe on YouTube, video games or TV?
Think about the goodness of God. Don’t be focused on this world. And if you remember God’s goodness and love, it will be easier to think about other people, not just yourself.
Look at the powerful things the Lord has done. See the awesome things he has done on earth…he Lord All-Powerful is with us.
Psalm 46: 8, 11 (ERV)
Dear Lord, forgive me for thinking so much on things of this world. Help me to focus on You and on other people, not just myself. Amen.
