Dog Day? — August 5, 2020

Today is National Work Like a Dog Day, but what does that mean? I don’t know about you, but my dog doesn’t work that hard. I mean, he works hard at barking at any bird or dog nearby, he works hard at begging for treats, and he works really hard at napping a lot inside the house… is that what it means? If so, yes, I want to work like a dog today.
Some people way that phrase started back when more people lived on farms–farm dogs work really hard all day. When you think of it that way, working from the sunrise to sunset is definitely a long, hard day of work. What about you? Are you tired after 15 minutes of cleaning your room? What about something harder like digging in the backyard? Could you work sunup to sundown?
What about praising God all day? Sunup to sundown. Think about that today–how can you work at praising God more often? He is worthy of our praise–he has saved us and gives us what we need for each day. And he loves us. Praise Jesus!
2 Let the name of the Lord be honored, now and forever. 3 The name of the Lord is to be praised from the time the sun rises to when it sets. 4 The Lord is high above all nations. His shining-greatness is above the heavens.
Psalm 113: 2-4 (NLV)
Dear Father in Heaven, Praise Your Almighty Name! Thank you for loving and saving me. Blessed be Your Name. Amen.
