Today is National Get Up Day. It’s a day to remind you that everyone falls, everyone fails–and that it’s okay, just get back up and try it again. The only way to learn is to try (anyone else hearing Yoda right now?), the only way to try is to be okay with falling sometimes.

The only thing worse than falling or failing? Not doing anything. Sitting around the house, being too afraid, or being too un-caring to get out and try something new. The world is big and wide and beautiful. There are so many cool things to do and see, simple things like looking at worms, doing science experiments, riding bikes and playing softball.

What is it that’s stopping you? Fear? Afraid to be awful? Afraid your friend will be better than you? Afraid to disappoint your dad?

Ask your Heavenly Father for help, for strength, and don’t be afraid to fall. Just get up.

He helps tired people be strong.  He gives power to those without it. 30 Young men get tired and need to rest. Even young boys stumble and fall. 31 But those who trust in the Lord will become strong again. They will be like eagles that grow new feathers. They will run and not get weak. They will walk and not get tired.

Isaiah 40:29-31 (ERV)

Dear Father, forgive me for not wanting to get back up, for not wanting to do something over and over again. Give me patience and wisdom Lord. Amen.
