Last week South Korea pledged to give 50,000 tons of rice to North Korea. North Korea is in the middle of a major drought and it’s estimated that 40% of the people are not getting enough food. It’s over $100 million dollars worth of food.

What’s interesting is that North and South Korea have had a lot of problems in the past. They were at war, and that war never officially ended, so there is always tension between them. But even with all of that conflict, they are helping the citizens of North Korea.

We are called to take care of others and share what we have. Sometimes it’s easy, like donating food at Thanksgiving, but sometimes it takes some of our time, or it’s something we don’t want to do. But just think of acting like Christ, and caring for others.

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Matthew 25:40 (NIV)

Dear Lord, Open my eyes to see how I can help others. Forgive me when I’m selfish and don’t share, or don’t give my time to help. Teach me how to be like Jesus. Amen.
