February 24, 2020 – Lots of Mistakes

Today is National Tortilla Chip Day: fun facts–if you know Despicable Me movies, the lead character Gru wore a hat made of tortilla chips, blue tortilla chips have more protein than regular ones, and the world record for biggest tortilla chip was 110 pounds. Yikes. Tortilla chips actually started in Los Angeles, when Rebecca Webb Carranza, who was in charge of a tortilla factory, she started frying the tortillas that turned out wrong. All the tortillas that were the wrong shape got cut up and fried–something good from a bunch of mistakes.
We all make mistakes, and they are part of life. If we can learn from them, that’s a good thing. You are not meant to be perfect, and you will make mistakes. But one thing that makes them worse is if you hide them, or lie about them. Own up to your mistakes–confess them to God, be honest with your parents and friends.
But then I decided to confess my sins to the Lord. I stopped hiding my guilt and told you about my sins. And you forgave them all!
Psalm 32:5 (ERV)
Lord, thank you for being a God who forgives. I’m sorry for messing up, forgive me. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross so I may be forgiven and have eternal life. Amen.
