Today is National Goof Off Day–you know what that means? Yep, think of a crazy, goofy way to spend your Sunday. For some of you, you may not be getting out much these days, and it may be getting boring around the house. So take a break from video games, books and board games and get a bit creative. A quick look online–everyone is getting goofy. Make a funny video with your parents. Have a war with paper airplanes. Play indoor volleyball with a balloon. Take a hike and play follow the leader. Indoor nerfgun battle? It never hurts to ask–remember that your family is in this with you, so chances are, they are needing to blow off some crazy energy too.

Being goofy helps everyone to get rid of stress, and it will probably make today stand out from the other days. That’s a good goal–can you do one thing every day to help the family, show lots of joy and love, and make one memory that will last. God tells us to honor our parents, love our family, and treat each other the way we’d hope to be treated. So maybe today, it’s your turn to try and help. By being a bit more goofy than normal.

Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits.

1 Corinthians 13:7 (ERV)

Dear Father, show me how to love my family today, in a way that brings us joy, laughter and fun. Amen.
