Today is National Author’s Day. It’s a day to celebrate the people who create stories for us. Whether you love to read or not, you do love a good story. Stories take us to different worlds, show us true heroes, make us wonder about life and help us to learn things about life too. What a boring world it would be without Harry Potter, Nancy Drew, Bilbo Baggins, Charlie (the Chocolate Factory guy), Greg Heffley or the Wizard of Oz.

Did you know the Bible is still called the greatest story ever told? And did you know that it still is one of the best selling books every year? It’s cool to look backwards in time and see God’s hand and path throughout history. And the Bible tells the best story of salvation–through Jesus’ death on the cross. We also see the original bad guy in Satan. But the best part? Well, two things actually–1. It’s a true story, not fiction. 2. God wins–the good guy wins.

for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.

Deuteronomy 20:4 (ERV)

Dear Lord, You are Mighty and are more powerful than your enemies. Thank you for loving me. Amen.
