This weekend was a time for many fantasy football leagues to have their drafts, before the season starts on September 5. A fun fact about football: in 1943, many men were serving in World War II, and so many of the players for the Steelers and Eagles were gone to the war that they two teams combined for a season…can you guess the name?? Yep, the Steagles.
As Christians, we are called to team up too. We are part of a community–the believers of Christ. All of us were given talents to use, and we can’t do it alone. We need to work like a team. Like in 1 Corinthians 12:
If the whole body were an eye, it would not be able to hear. If the whole body were an ear, it would not be able to smell anything. 18-19 If each part of the body were the same part, there would be no body. But as it is, God put the parts in the body as he wanted them. He made a place for each one.20 So there are many parts, but only one body…All of you together are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of that body.
1 Corinthians 12:17-20 & 27 (ERV)
Dear Lord, Forgive me when I try to do things all on my own. Teach me to depend on other people, and to work together to bring your glory. Amen.
