Fun fact for today: The company Amazon was founded on this day in 1994. Fun fact 2: Currently the founder, Jeff Bezos is worth 158.8 BILLION dollars… Fun fact 3: He almost named the company Cadabra (like abra cadabra) but his lawyer said ‘cadaver’ (which means dead body), so he switched it to Amazon. Probably a good thing.

Bezos seems like a pretty good businessman, to go from starting Amazon in his garage, to where it is now. He is known for being an optimistic person, and he still works the customer service phones a few days a year to better understand his customers.

It’s a good goal for us too–to try and understand people around us. When we are too selfish and only thinking of ourselves, we may not realize when someone need encouragement or support.

God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So your new life should be like this: Show mercy to others. Be kind, humble, gentle, and patient.

Dear Lord, forgive me for being selfish today and not thinking of others before myself. Help me to do better tomorrow. Amen.
