Do you know the story of when Jesus walked on water? Jesus went to meet his disciples who were in a boat on the lake, and he walked on water to get to them. They were afraid, but He told them to not be afraid, then Peter got out of the boat to walk to him after asking Jesus if he could.
29 Jesus said, “Come, Peter.” Then Peter left the boat and walked on the water to Jesus. 30 But while Peter was walking on the water, he saw the wind and the waves. He was afraid and began sinking into the water. He shouted, “Lord, save me!” 31 Then Jesus caught Peter with his hand. He said, “Your faith is small. Why did you doubt?”
Peter was a disciple and he still got afraid. He had faith in Jesus, but it was unsteady for a moment. Jesus knows we all have different kinds of faith. He doesn’t expect us to have perfect faith. He wants us to keep him the center of our lives and turn to him, then everything on this earth will become less important as we focus on Him.
Dear Lord, Teach me how to turn to you and to keep you as my focus. Forgive me for having small faith and doubting sometimes. Amen.
