Today is International Letter Writing Day–yes, it means to actually write a letter to someone on paper, not typing it or emailing it. Fun fact: a typical pencil can last for about 45,000 words. The idea is that a hand-written letter is more meaningful, for both the person writing it and the one who gets it. When you write by hand, you take your time and are more careful, so it’s a more thoughtful thing to do.

Thoughtfulness is a hard thing to do sometimes–it’s easy to focus on what we need and want, and we don’t always stop to think of how we could make someone smile by doing a thoughtful thing. It can be easy like picking up your room without being asked, or making a card for your mom, or sharing your favorite treat with your best friend.

Tomorrow, what can you do that is thoughtful?

32 Be kind and loving to each other. Forgive each other the same as God forgave you through Christ.

Ephesians 4:32 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Show me a way to be thoughtful tomorrow. Help me to not be focused on my own wants. Forgive me if I was selfish today. Thank you for being patient with me Lord. Amen.
