Every Sunday the Pope, the leader of the Catholic Church, goes to the window and prays to a crowd of people who are in the square in front of St. Peter’s church in Rome. But last week he was late. The Pope got stuck in an elevator for 25 minutes until the firemen came and rescued him. It sounds like a joke instead of the news, but it happened.

God is never late, his timing is perfect. You maybe wonder if God is paying attention to you. Or maybe sometimes you’re praying for something and nothing happens. And you just wait… You may think God has forgotten you, but He hasn’t. He has a plan for everything about your life, and it happens in his time, not ours. It’s hard to be patient, but we need to trust his timing.

Wait for the Lord’s help.
    Be strong and brave,
and wait for the Lord’s help.

Psalm 27:14 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Help me to accept your timing on things, and to be patient. Forgive me for my selfish wishes, and for when I get upset when things don’t go my way. Amen.
