You Want Me To Do What?? — July 12, 2020
A pretty funny bit of news for you today– in Japan, an amusement park re-opened but they have some new rules because of COVID19. One of the new rules? No screaming on the roller coasters. For Real. They want to limit the amount of droplets that could be spread. When people said they couldn’t do it, the managers rode the coaster and recorded a video, showing that you could ride without screaming. It’s pretty hilarious to watch, I have to say–they act like they are just riding in a car, no big deal! And at the end, it says “Please scream inside your heart” … 🙂
You may have people tell you to do things that seem impossible too. Does it seem impossible to do things like to never complain, to always have a good attitude, to not be afraid?
God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, which is a good thing for us. It is hard to never complain, but we can work at doing it as little as possible, right? And it’s human to be afraid or worry, but we can pray for help with these things. That’s the great thing about it–it’s not just for us to fix and figure out–God helps us with things and he helps change our hearts. We just need to ask him.
My God will richly fill your every need in a glorious way through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 (GW)
14 We can come to God with no doubts. This means that when we ask God for things (and those things agree with what God wants for us), God cares about what we say. 15 He listens to us every time we ask him. So we know that he gives us whatever we ask from him.
1 John 5:14-15 (ERV)
Dear Lord, forgive me for thinking I can fix things myself, or just try harder to be good. Help me, give me an unselfish heart, one that is ready to obey you with Love and Joy. Amen.
