One of the big sporting events right now is the women’s soccer World Cup. It’s basically one of the biggest events in soccer. The USA team is in the hunt as the knockout rounds are continuing on. It’s win or go home time for all the teams left.

These players have dedicated their lives to soccer. Top athletes in any sport need to be focused on their sport for their job and career, so that means training, eating right, and all of that lifestyle.

Being a Christian is about dedicating your whole life to God. Not just Sundays, not just praying at night or before dinner, but every minute of the day is His.

All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 26 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should.

I Corinthians 9:25-27 (ESV)

Dear Lord, Help me to stick to my training, and to work on being close to you and learning more about your word every day. Amen.
