Fun fact for the day, er, for the night: Some groups of animals are called normal things, like a pack of wolves, but some have some interesting ones–like a crash of rhinoceroses, a fever of stingrays, and a troubling of goldfish. I think that’s what groups of kids in school should be called too–a troubling of kids. Just kidding…
Jesus did many miracles while he was here on earth–one involved a group of people. In Luke 9, we see the story of when a crowd of about 5000 people had gathered to be near him, listening to him speak, and having loved ones healed. Time came for dinner, but they had no food to feed them.
Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. 17 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
Luke 9: 16-17 (NIV)
Jesus provides for us too, and gives us what we need. Though he knows before you say it, go to him in prayer during the day, and ask him for what you need. Not in a selfish way, but if you need to be more brave, or you’re worried about your parent’s job situation–everything is important to God. Just tell him.
Dear Lord, I’m worried about __________________. I don’t seem to be making progress in this area of my life. Send me what I need, even if it’s not what I think I need. Amen.
