Today is the Autumnal Equinox…I know, huh? But all that means is it’s officially fall as of today. Fun fact: today the sunrise and sunset are at exactly the east and west compass points, and in many areas, there is exactly 12 hours of sunshine, and 12 hours of darkness. The word equinox is from Latin words meaning equal (aequus) and night (nox).

God divided day and night, earth and sky. Our God is a God of order and consistency. Think about the way our world moves, calendars, all things you can depend on. It’s comforting to know that God loves order and not chaos. He has a plan and you are part of it.

God is not a God of confusion but a God of peace.

1 Corinthians 14:33 (ERV)

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the sky. These lights will separate the days from the nights. They will be used for signs to show when special meetings[d] begin and to show the days and years. 15 They will be in the sky to shine light on the earth.” And it happened.

Genesis 1:14-15 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Thank you for being stable and dependable. I know you are trustworthy, and that your promises are true. Amen.
