December 1, 2019

That just feels weird typing it–DECEMBER! And that means it’s almost the year 2020–AAAHHH!!!! Okay, had to get that out of my system.
So today in history–on December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus, which was a major moment in the Civil Rights movement. Rosa Parks was an African-American woman living in Alabama, while there were still laws saying it was okay to treat African-Americans differently, just because of their skin color.
Rosa Parks was a brave woman. She pointed out something that was not right in the world, not to become famous, but just because it was the right thing to do.
God chooses us to be his children. Being a Christian can be tough–you want to point people to the right path, but sometimes they don’t want to hear it. You will need some bravery to face the world as you get older. Do your best to figure out the right thing to do, treat everyone with kindness and humility.
13 Be careful. Hold firmly to your faith. Have courage and be strong. 14 Do everything in love.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (ERV)
Dear Lord, Be with me, fill me with your Spirit so I can be brave. Show me what the right thing to do is. Lead me. Make me brave, kind and humble. Amen.
