January 8, 2020 – You think you’re smart?

Fun facts for the day–intelligent animals. Scientists have either observed or taught the following animals these things: chimpanzees have learned sign language, an octopus can get through a maze and open a jar to get out food, crows can remember human faces, pigs have great memories and pick out scribbles they’ve seen before, and dolphins are thought to be the smartest of the animal kingdom. Dolphins have been seen using tools and in one study, the dolphins got a treat for each piece of trash it brought to the scientists–and the dolphin figured out that if he tore up the trash into smaller pieces, he’d have more trash to get more rewards. Talk about learning quickly, huh?
Learning more about God is one of the other items on our list of ways to have purpose as a Christian. How do we do that? Respect God and His power. Be humble and realize that you do not know much and have much to learn. Pray and remember that the Holy Spirit is your helper. Spend time with others who love God and are trying to learn more about him.
20 Be friends with those who are wise, and you will become wise. Choose fools to be your friends, and you will have trouble.
Proverbs 13:20 (ERV)
This is what we pray: that God will make you completely sure of what he wants by giving you all the wisdom and spiritual understanding you need; 10 that this will help you live in a way that brings honor to the Lord and pleases him in every way; that your life will produce good works of every kind and that you will grow in your knowledge of God
Colossians 1:9-10 (ERV)
Ask for wisdom and Seek it.
Dear Father, give me a heart to learn more about you. I want to be wise in your ways Lord. Teach me. In Jesus name, Amen.
