I don’t know if your parents talk about the news with you much, or if they watch the news on TV, but there have been a lot of crazy things lately in the world. Australia has had major wildfires, Puerto Rico had a big earthquake, there have been major floods in a few countries, the US had an attack on Iran–the world may seem a little out of control, and it’s easy to fall into worrying about things.
But God is in control. On our list for knowing our purpose is to Believe in God’s word. What does God promise us in the Bible? He promises to never leave us. He promises salvation, not based on us earning it. He promises that all things work for good. He promises to keep his promises. He promises us his power and his love. He promises that we have a connection to him through prayer. And He promises to never take your name out of the Book of Life. When you’ve become a child of God, you’re His forever.
I will not remove their names from the book of life. I will say that they belong to me before my Father and before his angels.
Revelation 3:5 (ERV)
Do we still get afraid at life? Yes, because we are human. But we have God’s promises to come back to. Always believe and have hope.
7 The Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His Spirit is a source of power and love and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7 (ERV)
Don’t worry about the world–care enough to try and make it a better place, but God is in control.
