Today is National Name Your Car Day. Yep, it’s exactly as it sounds. A lot of people do name their cars–maybe your family does. If not, I dare you today to try it–come up with something funny. There are a lot of cars in movies and shows that are named–Lightning McQueen for example. In fact, surveys show that about 42% of people name their cars, and more than that talk to them. I don’t know, the VW bus in the picture looks a lot like a Walter, don’tcha think?

God knows your name (and everything else about you of course). But think about the fact that out of all the millions of names out there–he knows yours. You should feel special and loved by God. It’s nice to be noticed, right? What about at school? Are there people that you don’t really know their names, but you walk by them every day? Maybe you could introduce yourself–that way the next time you walk by, you can say hi a little more properly.

the Lord created you. Israel, he made you, and now he says, “Don’t be afraid. I saved you. I named you. You are mine.

Isaiah 43:1 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Thank you for knowing me. Help me to take the time to get to know other people, so they can feel noticed too. Amen.
