On the Hunt: May 24, 2020
Today is National Scavenger Hunt Day. If you’ve never done one before, you get a list of things to find–sometimes by yourself, sometimes with a team. First one to find all the things on the list wins. During this quarantine time, a lot of websites have made some great ideas for a SH, so you can check some out here if you want to join in today.
Scavenger Hunts make you be really observant of the world around you, so today, maybe you go on a SH for God–no, I don’t mean that he’s missing. I mean that we often don’t look for him in the details of our day. Where do you see God? Maybe in the cool details of a pretty rock. Maybe in the song of a bird outside your window. Maybe in the kindness of your neighbor.
God is all around us. We just need to pay attention to see Him.
33 Listen to my teaching and be wise; don’t ignore what I say.
34 Whoever waits at my door and listens for me will be blessed.
35 Those who find me find life, and the Lord will reward them.
Proverbs 8:33-35 (ERV)
Dear Jesus, forgive me for not trying to find you in my life–help me know how to look for you and how to see you in my life. Amen.
