You may not know the name, but Bill Gates is a super-rich person, who created the huge computer company Microsoft. He has billions of dollars. Years ago, he started a pledge with other billionaires, that they should donate most of their money. Since then, the Gates have given away over $45 BILLION dollars. That’s a crazy amount of money.

I know I don’t have a billion dollars, but I do have enough to pay the bills and have plenty to eat. We have a comfortable house and plenty of clothes, shoes, toys–you get the picture. What we’re saying here is that we all can be more generous. Don’t be a scrooge, give more. It will fill you with joy.

Each one of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give. You should not give if it makes you unhappy or if you feel forced to give. God loves those who are happy to give.

2 Corinthians 9:7 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Forgive me for not being generous with my things, or my money. Help me to learn to be more giving of my things, and to share what I have more freely. Amen.
